Reinforced concrete (RC) walls are effective in buildings as a means of resisting lateral seismic loading. RC walls consist of two regions: the web, and the boundary elements (BEs) ( Figure 1). Under lateral loading, the boundary elements are subjected to cyclic tension and compression loads, with higher strain demands comparatively to the web.
This study investigates the structural behavior of indirectly loaded deep reinforced concrete (RC) Tbeams. A total of 21deep RC Tbeams were divided into three groups according tothe ratio of shear span to effective depth. Beams without web reinforcement were tested under indirect point loading applied via central intersecting members until shear
contractors who build the structure. It involves the translation of a good structural design from the computer or calculation pad into the final structure. ¾Good detailing ensures that reinforcement and concrete interact efficientlyto provide satisfactory behaviour throughout the complete range of loading.

KEYWORDS: Reinforced concrete, Grid structural walls, Test, Seismic behavior, Flange . 1. INTRODUCTION . The reinforced concrete grid structural wall system is a new building structure which meets China's national conditions. This system has the function of structure, formwork, insulation and fire prevention and is suitable for
not compliant with the requirements of ACI 31814 (ACI 2014). Failure of the wall was due to concrete crushing in the web and boundary element together with the fracture of transverse reinforcement, which led to the flexureshear failure mode. More details about the wall can be found elsewhere (Pilakoutas and Elnashai 1995). Figure 1.

Web Crushing of Reinforced Concrete Structural Walls ... In this video, NIST scientists crush a pillar of concrete to test a new kind of sensor that can measure changes in pressure using light. First, researchers glue an optical fiber thinner than a human hair to the outside of a concrete cylinder sitting in a press.
Introduction 2 Retaining walls are usually built to hold back soil mass. Retaining walls are structures that are constructed to retail soil or any such materials which are unable to stand vertically by themselves. They are also provided to maintain the grounds at two different levels. Types of retaining wall: Gravity wall Cantilever wall ...
Crushing failure of columns: When reinforced concrete columns are subjected to intense loading conditions, both steel and concrete yield and the column fails. Earthquake loads that apply lateral stresses highly affect the solidity of the column which may get crushed and lose its bearing capacity.

In the design of reinforced concrete multistorey buildings, in which lateral load resistance has been assigned to structural walls, the emphasis should be on a rational strategy in the positioning of walls and the establishment of a hierarchy in the development of strengths to ensure that in the event of a very large earthquake brittle failure will not occur.
